Seal Beach Classes

I know you are all eagerly awaiting more information on the location of the Seal Beach classes. I’m working very hard to negotiate a classroom space at this time and hope to have that information available soon. For those of you looking to book your flights I would recommend you fly into the John Wayne International airport (SNA) or the Long Beach Airport (LGB) for an easier drive. Lorraine and I will be staying in Seal Beach so we will be holding the classes as close to Seal Beach as possible so if you want to make hotel reservations now one of our previous students recommends the Hampton Inn on Seal Beach. Please stay tuned for more information!

Parking for Seattle Classes

For those of you staying at the Warwick, they have graciously lowered their normal rate of $27 per day to $12. For those of you not staying at the hotel, I’ve been given the following information by our hotel contact:

Our hotel is connected to a parking garage so it is very convenient. The garage rates are as follows:

0-1 Hour: $6
1-2 Hours: $9
2-3 Hours: $10
3-4 Hours: $12
4-10 Hours: $15

Airport Shuttle

I just read this on Yelp Seattle regarding the Warwick Seattle Hotel:

There’s even a shuttle that you can buy tickets for at the hotel and it stops right in front of the hotel that takes you to the airport for $11/one way or $18/round trip. It’s the last stop on the route before the airport so it only took like half an hour with a bit of traffic. We didn’t take it going to the hotel but since it’s the last stop, you have to stop at a bunch of other hotels before you get here so it’s probably like an hour long trip.

Good to know, right?

We are all set!

The Warwick is ready to take your reservations. Room rates are $109 plus taxes. Please see the other details in my earlier post. Our Group Name is Capital Confectioners and you can reach them at this phone number:

Tel: +1 206 443 4300

The Warwick, it is!

Wow, was that ever a tough decision. The other hotel came in and met the Warwick’s offer. All things being equal there were a few things weighing heavily on the side of the Warwick:

  1. It’s a nicer hotel with some old world charm
  2. It’s in a better location. Though only a mile apart the Warwick is in the “free ride” zone and closer to the waterfront. It’s also in the Belltown area which is a gorgeous little area filled with wonderful restaurants and closer to Pike Place Market.
  3. Parking is $3 cheaper a night.

The contract is being faxed over in the morning so after that we’ll be all set. Rooms should be booked by Sept. 2nd to get our rate as detailed in my earlier post.

Stay tuned, I may have spoke too soon

I just heard back from the original hotel I’d been negotiating with and they’ve sweetened their offer. The room rates would be the same but they are offering much nicer lunches. Stay tuned, in either case the decision will be finalized tomorrow.

Houston, we have a potential meeting space!

Warwick Hotel's Cambridge Room

After much negotiation I have a tentative agreement with the Warwick Hotel to host our classes. They are offering you a very reasonable rate of $109 + taxes per night. That is a great rate for Seattle! Included in your deal is $12 a day for parking (normally $27 daily) and free in-room Wi-fi (normally $11 a day). I’m not sure why but most hotels in Seattle charge internet access fees. Hotels.com rates the Warwick as a 3.5 star hotel with a 4.1 customer rating, which is quite good. It is located in the Belltown area of Seattle which is a trendy, fun area with access to some fabulous restaurants. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the monorail and 5 blocks from Seattle’s famed Pike Place Market, a must see!  If you are traveling from out of town please don’t feel you need to rent a car. You can now catch the Light Rail from Sea-Tac Airport to downtown Seattle. Once you reach downtown you can catch the monorail or a cab for a small fee.  Our contract should be finalized later today so that you can begin booking your rooms by Thursday.
